Adult Caseworker (Male Victim / Survivor Service)

£25,254 to £27,622 (Depending on experience) part-time 16hrs per wk. Days and hours to be discussed at interview

To provide a direct service to male victims/survivors of domestic abuse via 1:1 or group work. 

A little about the role...

A committed and skilled full-time practitioner is required to support our existing team in providing direct service to men who have experienced domestic abuse.

The post-holder will be expected to deliver services in locations across the borough of Sefton.

Key Responsibilities

  • To conduct person centred advice and support sessions to assist the service user with the development of his personal plan.
  • To liaise with SWACA team members when necessary.
  • To provide advocacy on behalf of the service users with external agencies, where appropriate.
  • To hold and manage a varied and fluctuating caseload in accordance with agency guidance, policy and procedures.
  • To maintain accurate, up to date and relevant case notes on both the SWACA Case Management and Local Authority systems.
  • To act in a consultancy/advisory capacity for external agencies.
  • To undertake risk assessments and support needs analysis with service users and develop individual service risk/support plans.
  • To assist, support and supervise volunteers and students working in the agency.
  • To contribute to the development of the service and take responsibility for personal development through active engagement in supervision, team meetings, training, board meetings and agency events, as required.
  • To collect and submit appropriate data that may be required by the SWACA or by external agencies.
  • To promote the interests of the Charity by supporting fundraising and public relation events.
  • To provide specialist advice to other workers and agencies, including participation in delivery of training sessions.
  • Other similar duties may be allocated from time to time, appropriate to the general character of the post.
  • It is a requirement of the post that some evening and weekend work is undertaken for which time in lieu will be authorised.

Bank Refuge Support Worker Nights

£11.44 per hour

A little about the role...

To provide a highquality through-the-night service supporting women and children service users experiencing / affected by domestic abuse living in SWACA’s dedicated refuge in Sefton.  

Key Responsibilities

  • To provide direct support for families within the refuge service during the night, where required, being available to answer any queries / concerns the service user may have including carrying out welfare checks when needed.
  • To ensure nightly health and safety building checks are carried out, and to efficiently prepare vacant rooms for new arrivals.
  • To enable access, through effective promotional activities, to SWACA’s learning development / training offer, for all key multi-agency stakeholders.
  • Working within the confines of confidentiality / GDPR regulations, to ensure professional boundaries are always maintained when working with residents, staff, and external bodies.
  • In conjunction with One Vision Housing (OVH), ensure all risk assessments and fire checks are carried out in accordance with the refuge’s policies and procedures and all equipment i.e., fridges, washing machines, cookers, heating, furniture etc. are in safe working order.
  • To ensure a good standard of hygiene is maintained in the refuge at all times, by making sure that all rooms are clean prepared with fresh bedding etc. and keep communal areas clean and tidy.
  • To carry out cleaning and other light manual duties when required.
  • To always promote the interests of the organisation.
  • Other similar duties may be allocated from time to time, appropriate to the general character of the post.

A committed and skilled full-time practitioner is required to support our existing team in providing direct service to women who have experienced domestic abuse.

The post-holder will be expected to deliver services in locations across the borough of Sefton.

A relevant qualification together with a good understanding of the issue of domestic abuse and its impact on women and children is required.

This post is restricted to women applicants only under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, and Part 1—section 7(2) e of the Sex Discrimination Act 1975.

An enhanced disclosure check with the Disclosure and Barring Service will be undertaken for this post.
