Clinical Lead (CL) Sefton IRIS Programme

£83/hour

This role is for a part-time practicing clinician/s who can work flexibly to meet the needs of the IRIS Programme. The appointed Clinical Lead/s is required to attend the IRIS training for trainers, and local steering group meetings and promote and engage practices, especially during the early stages of the programme. The Clinical Lead will be required to deliver the IRIS clinical training to local general practice teams alongside the IRIS Advocate Educator.  The training commences on 23rd/24th/25th April 2024 and attendance would be required

A little about the role...

 

  • To work in close partnership with the IRIS advocate educator (AE) to promote, champion and recruit practices to the IRIS programme across Sefton area.
  • Deliver IRIS clinical training to general practices, to raise awareness of domestic violence and abuse (DVA) and of the IRIS programme.
  • Provide peer support for staff working in primary care around DVA and encourage/remind peers to engage with the IRIS programme.
  • Encourage clinicians to ask patients about experiences of DVA with the ability to respond, record, assess immediate risk and refer the advocate educator.
  • Maintain an effective relationship with general practice teams, including delivering presentations and attending local meetings as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Co-deliver DVA training to clinicians and staff in participating general practices, alongside the Advocate Educator.
  • Promote IRIS across Sefton building on and utilising key contacts to support the implementation within the local GP community.
  • Utilise local knowledge to promote the project through various network channels such as GP Bulletin.
  • Build and sustain strong links with key partners (e.g. ICB Commissioners, Safeguarding Team).
  • Respond to queries from clinicians and staff regarding DVA and to be a sounding board for DVA concerns from fellow clinicians ensuring that they have knowledge of IRIS referral pathways.
  • Develop and maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of DVA and health both locally and nationally
  • Attend IRIS steering group meetings and additional review meetings as required.

Childrens & Young Person Caseworker

A little bit about the role:

To carry out direct work and offer appropriate services to children and young people aged 5 – 18 years.

Key Responsibilities

  • To make initial and ongoing assessments of the needs of children / young people experiencing, or affected by, domestic abuse.
  • To provide support needed to the child / young person and to refer to other relevant support services as appropriate, for example regarding Safeguarding children.
  • To ensure at all stages that the child / young person’s needs are prioritised and responded to with understanding.
  • To ensure that service, and child / young person, outcomes are identified and met and can be demonstrated to the referral agency, parent / carer, school, and funding provider.
  • To advocate and liaise on behalf of the child / young person, with statutory and other agencies, should this be required.
  • To act in a consultancy / advisory capacity for external agencies.
  • To engage children / young people in identifying and designing appropriate services.
  • To hold and manage a varied and fluctuating caseload in accordance with agency guidance, policies, and procedures.
  • To maintain accurate, up to date and relevant case notes on both the Case Management and Local Authority system.
  • To provide (time-limited) assistance to SWACA in the delivery of the Sefton Domestic Abuse Helpline, as part of a wider SWACA staff rota supporting the SWACA Duty Officer, (as Helpline Lead).
  • To assist, support and supervise volunteers and students working in the agency.
  • To contribute to the development of the service and take responsibility for personal development through active engagement in supervision, team meetings, training, board meetings and agency events, as required.
  • To collect and submit appropriate data that may be required by the SWACA or by external agencies.
  • To promote the interests of the Charity by supporting fundraising and public relation events.
  • Other similar duties may be allocated from time to time, appropriate to the general character of the post.
  • It is a requirement of the post that occasional evening and weekend work is undertaken for which time in lieu will be authorised.

Refuge Support Worker (Nights)

£22,300.00

38.5 hours per week (full-time)

Night Hours Refuge Support Workers will work on a shift-based Rota pattern, over a 4 week rolling period, including weekends and bank holidays, to cover the hours of 8:00 pm – 8:00 am

Job Purpose

To provide a high-quality through-the-night service supporting women and children service users experiencing / affected by domestic abuse living in SWACA’s dedicated refuge in Sefton.

Key Responsibilities

  • To provide direct support for families within the refuge service during the night, where required, being available to answer any queries / concerns the service user may have including carrying out welfare checks when needed.
  • To ensure nightly health and safety building checks are carried out, and to efficiently prepare vacant rooms for new arrivals.
  • Working within the confines of confidentiality / GDPR regulations, to ensure professional boundaries are always maintained when working with residents, staff, and external bodies.
  • To immediately communicate any breaches of security, refuge guidelines / house rules or licence agreements, especially where there is concern about safety or a safeguarding concern, to the refuge manager or other relevant staff.
  • In conjunction with One Vision Housing (OVH), ensure all risk assessments and fire checks are carried out in accordance with the refuge’s policies and procedures and all equipment i.e., fridges, washing machines, cookers, heating, furniture etc. are in safe working order.
  • To ensure a good standard of hygiene is maintained in the refuge at all times, by making sure that all rooms are clean prepared with fresh bedding etc. and keep communal areas clean and tidy.
  • To carry out cleaning and other light manual duties when required.
  • To promote the interests of the organisation at all times

A committed and skilled full-time practitioner is required to support our existing team in providing a direct service to women who have experienced domestic abuse.

The post-holder will be expected to deliver services in locations across the borough of Sefton.

A relevant qualification together with a good understanding of the issue of domestic abuse and its impact on women and children is required.
