SWACA & Liverpool County Football Association

SWACA are proud to be working in partnership with Liverpool County Football Association to help reduce domestic abuse and promote safer communities.

Major sporting events like the World Cup bring people together, creating opportunities to celebrate, connect, and enjoy time with others. For most people, this is a positive and enjoyable experience. However, evidence shows that incidents of domestic abuse can increase during these periods, particularly when influenced by factors such as alcohol consumption and heightened emotions around match results.

It remains a stark reality that, on average, one woman is killed by a current or former partner every three days in England and Wales (Source: Women’s Aid). This highlights the importance of raising awareness and taking collective action.

Through the ‘See It, Hear It, Call It Out’ campaign, we are working with our partners to encourage individuals and communities to recognise the signs of domestic abuse and safely call out unacceptable behaviour.

We are not asking anyone to put themselves at risk. However, if you believe someone is in immediate danger, please contact the police right away. If you or someone you know may be experiencing domestic abuse, our helpline is available to offer confidential advice and support.

By staying aware and taking responsible action, we can all play a role in protecting those at risk and helping to prevent harm.

If you See it or Hear it – Call It Out.
