A SWACA community initiative
In partnership with Jaz Hair by Kim
A connection can make a difference
Sometimes, it feels easier to talk to someone you already know.
SWACA and Jaz Hair by Kim are working together to help hairdressers and beauty professionals recognise possible signs of domestic abuse, listen with care and connect people with specialist support.
How My Safe Space works
Everyday community relationships can help people find a way to support.
Help hair and beauty professionals recognise possible signs that someone may be experiencing abuse.
Offer a compassionate conversation, without judgement or pressure to disclose, leave a relationship or make a police report.
Connect people with specialist support from SWACA, respecting their safety, circumstances and choices.
Participating professionals will be supported to understand their role and its boundaries. SWACA provides the specialist knowledge behind the initiative.
Rooted in our community
Hairdressers and beauticians build relationships through years of conversation, familiarity and care. Kim’s longstanding connection with her clients brings something valuable to this partnership: trust that has grown naturally over time.
SWACA brings more than fifty years of experience supporting people in Sefton. Together, we want to turn that trust into opportunities for people experiencing domestic abuse to find support.
Everyone deserves to feel safe, regardless of gender or background.
