The Sefton Domestic Abuse Service provides the following drop in services for all those affected by domestic abuse.

Tuesday & Wednesday

Held between 10am and 4pm at SWACA, 166 Knowsley Road, Bootle, L20 4NR.

Thursday

Held between 10am and 3pm at Linaker Family Wellbeing Centre, Linaker Street, Southport, PR8 5DQ.

Support groups

The Sefton Domestic Abuse Service provides the following support groups for all those affected by domestic abuse.

Held between 10am and 12pm at . Talbot Street Family Wellbeing Centre, Southport, PR8 1HR

Training and Education

All of the training courses covered below are provided free of charge to schools, businesses, and local authority services within Sefton.

Healthy relationship sessions for educational settings

One of the key objectives of the healthy relationship sessions is to raise awareness and implement prevention strategies for domestic abuse in an age-appropriate manner. Each session lasts for around 1 hour and is designed by Women’s Aid and NSPCC.

Training for professionals

We offer a range of courses for professionals; our courses can be delivered either online or face-to-face.

This training is for professionals and is an opportunity to learn alongside other professionals from a variety of agencies and services, from statutory and non-statutory organisations.

Domestic abuse awareness e-learning

In this introductory course, you are going to find out about domestic abuse and how it can affect individuals and families living with abuse.

By the end of the course, you will have increased your knowledge of:

  • The signs of abuse
  • The types of behaviours that are abusive
  • The effect of domestic abuse on adults and children
  • Some of the reasons people find it difficult to leave abusive relationships
  • Some beneficial tools and techniques to have
  • Conversations about domestic abuse
  • Where to get help and support for people living with domestic abuse

The Sefton Domestic Abuse Service provides the following programmes specifically designed to support those who have been affected by domestic abuse.

Rock Pool Domestic Abuse Recovery Toolkit

The Rock Pool Domestic Abuse Recovery Toolkit is the UK’s Leading trauma-informed recovery programme for adults who have experienced or witnessed domestic abuse but are no longer in that abusive relationship. This 10-week programme course aims to provide the knowledge required to aid recovery from the effects of living with domestic abuse and is delivered face-to-face.

  • Week 2 – Introduction to self-esteem
  • Week 3 – Coping with the consequences of toxic stress
  • Week 4 – The Effects of Abuse on children and parenting skills
  • Week 5 – Self-esteem and affirmations

  • Week 8 – Boundaries & Trust
  • Week 9 – Healthy relationships
  • Week 10 – Actions for the future
