Sefton Women’s and Children’s Aid (SWACA) are delighted to announce that we have been commissioned by Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council to be the service provider of a new refuge provision which has been fully refurbished by One Vision Housing. We will be opening 5 self-contained units for women and children to live in, giving families a home in a safe and secure location, with access to intensive support 24 hours a day 7 days per week.

With SWACA’s substantial history and experience of providing specialist direct support to survivors of domestic abuse, we are confident that we are the best organisation to fulfil, develop and meet the complexities that individuals face, when escaping from domestic abuse. We consider the individual needs of the people accessing our service, so together we can work out what is important to them and to support them with recovering, re-building and resettling into a future free from abuse”.

We have started this Refuge welfare fund and need money, primarily to support and relieve the pressure off the survivors of domestic abuse in the initial settling in period to minimise immediate financial pressures and help rebuild their lives.

Any amount you are willing to contribute will be greatly appreciated, and if you aren’t able to contribute at this time, a share with your family and friends would mean the world to us. Thank you for your time and consideration.
